AC PRO heat pumps
AC PRO has 72 ducted outdoor models on the EPA's ENERGY STAR certified list, appearing in 2,536 certified pairings with indoor coils. Across all of them the certified HSPF2 runs from 7.8 to 10.8.
That range is not a quality spread between good and bad AC PRO units. It is mostly the same outdoor units paired with different indoor coils: 36 of these 72 models (50%) are certified at more than one HSPF2, and those have a median of 3.5 different ratings each. Until the indoor model is on the quote, the efficiency you are being sold is a range.
22 of these 72 model numbers are also sold under another brand. In this list the same AC PRO outdoor model number also appears as AIREASE, ALLIED, Armstrong Air, BLUERIDGE, Breeze33, Concord and 5 more.
Each brand files its own AHRI certificate, so the certificate numbers differ even when the model number is identical. If you are holding two quotes from different brands, check the outdoor model numbers before assuming you are comparing two different machines. A shared model number is strong evidence of shared equipment, not proof that manufacture, warranty or support are identical. What it does and does not tell you.
The certificates are filed with ENERGY STAR by Allied Air Enterprises, GE Appliances, a Haier Company, Lennox Industries, Material Supply Inc. dba AC Pro. The partner is the company that submitted the certification, which is not always the name on the equipment.
39 of these models have at least one pairing that is certified as cold-climate. Cold-climate certification is a property of the pairing, not of the outdoor unit on its own, so it can apply to some coil combinations of a model and not others. The model pages and the calculator show it per pairing.
Every AC PRO model in the certified list
Sorted by how many certified pairings each one has. More pairings means the outdoor unit is certified with more coil combinations, not that it is better or more common in homes — the list counts certificates, not sales.

What to do with this
- Find the outdoor model number on your quote or on the unit's label, and open it above. Models with a page of their own open it; the rest load straight into the calculator.
- Ask your installer for the indoor coil model number and the AHRI certificate number for the pairing they are quoting. How to find and check that number.
- Enter it and the range collapses to the one rating that applies to your system. From there you can add a second system, such as a competing quote, and compare the two.
